Graphic Designer’s Guide to Productivity

Being a graphic designer can take up a lot of your time. Deadlines, multiple revisions and overlapping projects can make you lose track of time.

Take a chill pill and get your notebook out. You’ll need these tips.

  1. Write a weekly to-do list

Sometimes you can’t even remember what it is you forgot. Once you receive any feedback, incoming projects or notable points, jot them down immediately.

  2. Sort out your priorities

Prioritize which projects are due soon and later. Then sort them out by assessing which needs more time to complete.

  3. Use your Calendar

Print out a big calendar or grid your whiteboard of the days in a month. Then keep track of all the deadlines. Crossing them out is soo satisfying.

  4. Maintain a Clear Desk

An unorganized desk leads to an unorganized headspace. I did some desk spring cleaning myself and boy, I’m much more relaxed doing work.

  5. Check Those Emails

You know those pesky notifications that cramp up your phone? That’s all the emails you haven’t opened. Be responsible. But don’t just open them and leave them on read. We all know how that feels on the receiving end.

  6. Use email labels

You can actually label your emails rather than arranging them into starred, spam and snoozed. Customize and color code them into categories. It’ll brighten up your email inbox totally!

I spent two hours in this class, and all I can say is that it was a great experience. It’s full of valuable knowledge for anyone who truly wants to start a food business. There are so many hidden aspects you may not know or have never encountered before—things you need to learn and apply before launching your online food business. I’m not starting mine yet, but after this class I’ve learned a lot from Hugo. He is very friendly and genuinely willing to share his knowledge. I would definitely say: just go for this class. You have nothing to lose if you’re serious about starting a food business.

Had a basic information sharing session with Hugo. I opted for the in-person version of the "How to start my food processing business". After registering for it online, Hugo reached out to me via Whatsapp to arrange a time. I turned out to be the only person for the sharing session that day so it felt like a private/personalised session. Definitely recommend in-person sessions if you are concerned with having others in your class or there may be a significant amount of questions you have. Hugo was really friendly and welcoming. He listened to my ideas and since it was only both of us he was able to share slightly more in-depth information where it concerned me more. The class syllabus itself is basic but I would say fundamental. It touches on things like packaging design and printing requirements, halal/haccp/mesti and etc certification requirements (i.e what a certified site looks like, what documents are required, what to look out for, etc), and a fair few more things. Would recommend if you can afford the fee. Hugo is also a prompt person - from arranging the classes, to replying me on Whatsapp, to providing certain materials I requested, he always did it quickly. Couple things to note for onsite classes - it is held in their HQ which is under the Zaloha Sdn Bhd name, not Foodipedia, so when you are looking for the office it can be a bit confusing. Office is located on the first floor, although there isn't a big sign above the door. Also, there is ample parking nearby, but be prepared to walk as you may have to park a couple of shop lot rows away.

We recently engaged this team to create our company profile and are very happy with the results. The service was quick and timely, and we received prompt responses throughout the process. The write-up was well done and aligned perfectly with our brief, and the illustrations were also well-executed. Overall, a smooth and professional experience — highly recommended!
